Every second Saturday of the month we have committed to meet together as the "Guild of Catechists" to share some time together. Life as a Catholic can be challenging within such a secular society, the counter-cultural nature of our faith needs to be shared. Communion with each other and with Jesus is key to our growth. Everyone who is signed up to the courses in partnership with the University of Steubenville is welcome to join us.
COVID-19 restrictions mean that our meetings are all through Zoom - a great opportunity to don your favourite lounge wear, a cup of coffee and revel in the shortest commute to meet with likeminded people. So 2-4pm every second Saturday of the month. We are so pleased to launch this new site on such an amazing Feast Day of the Church. Today we proclaim that Christ is King over the whole universe. And put simply, that is exactly what this partnership with the University of Steubenville all boils down to. Knowing that Jesus is King. When we make space to grow our relationship with Jesus amazing things happen. He is our mission. He is our inspiration. He is our guide to all that we do as part of the Department of New Evangelisation.
So WELCOME to the site. Please get in touch in you have any questions about the study! Preparation. Preparation. Preparation. It's been a strange year. For everyone. But for us, as a Church, it has meant a whole re-think of how we minister. How we approach all of our Parish Ministries is very different in a COVID world. And as part of that we, as the Diocese, are having to adapt too. The Department for New Evangelisation has a care for all the catechesis, or faith formation, throughout the Diocese. We exist to support and encourage Parishes in their evangelising efforts. The Mission for Catechesis has been formed to assist in this mainly through an exciting partnership with the Franciscan University of Steubenville. This partnership uses the AMAZING online courses of the university. And, due to COVID, have offered us an amazing deal so we can reach the WHOLE DIOCESE OF SHREWSBURY!!!
So from the Feast of Christ the King - these courses are to available to the whole of the Diocese for a token charge of £10 per person. We cannot wait to see the fruit from this! Praise God. |
